With my first Zoladex injection my legs got hot and my body got covered in a really itchy rash.
I also have heavy fatigue and can’t walk near as much as before. I also get a bit of depression from it.
I am 74 years of age.

Ben, the legs getting hot and the itchy rash sound like it might be an allergic reaction. Did you report your symptoms to your oncologist or symptom management nurse?
I don’t know whether it was due to Zoladex or Abiraterone, but lots of intermittent hot flashes, energy levels lower than before. After 4 months now, it’s better. But actually the fatigue factor got immensely worse after my Tomotherapy.

When I reported to my oncologist he was quite surprised that my rash was so bad, he expected some rash but not like I had. He also wasn’t surprised by my legs getting hit but that only lasted fo a few hours.
For my rash I used Cavilon barrier cream made by the 3M company. When I started using that the itching went away in a very short time and in a few days my rash was almost all gone. I had to order it on Amazon since no stores around here carry it.
I am getting another shot tomorrow so I will see how the reaction goes then.

Ben, you might ask before your appointment if there is something you can take or they can give you before the injection to reduce the allergic effect. It's worth asking about.

Colleen if the rash comes back with this shot I will talk to my oncologist to see if there’s something he can prescribe to stop it. I have an appointment in April so I will find out then.
