With prostatectomy any detectable PSA means metastasis.
With initial radiation PSA of .2 indicates biochemical recurrence.
Indetectable PSA is less than .1.
.1 is DETECTABLE PSA.
Current blood tests cannot detect PSA below .1.
Unless an expert on prostate cancer, non-experts like internists/GPs/etc. misbelieve 4 or below PSA indicates non-cancer. Testing companies add to this lethal confusion by treating all PSA tests as relating only to initial treatments, not biochemical recurrence following surgery or radiation. Medical malpractice attorneys should be jumping on this billions of dollars class action!
