High grade dysplasia: Anyone had Cryotherapy on the esophagus?

I have diagnosed with HDD and it started at very high level like 13cm . My last appointment at Mayo they did EMR 50%. NeXT appointment they suggested Cryotherapy, any one had Cryotherapy for esophagus? Please give your input that will help me.

Can you help me understand? Did you mean that the endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) only removed 50% of the high-grade dysplasia? So now cryoablation will be used to treat the remaining affected area?

Yes they removed 50% next in May I have an appointment for cryoablation for the effected area.I have high grade dysplasia only. No cancer was detected.

Hi I have cryo ablated for my Barrett esophagus with metaplatia with nuclear atypia. So some reason I went to cryo ablation. I would say it removed the precancerous but fell me into whole lot issues with pain and swallowing issue is big now for last 4 years . So sorry doesn’t mean to scare you all. I might had the choice of being on surveillance but went to hardest choice because we didn’t took second opinion. However if someone has a HGD , cryo / RFA is the best choice. But cryo ablate a bit deeper than RFA. All of these has cost and benefit. It will definitely buy you some time and some upper stomach pain , burn discomfort Will always be there.
