Hi @konerumanjula, here's some information about
- Cryoablation for cancer https://www.mayoclinic.org/tests-procedures/cryoablation-for-cancer/about/pac-20385216
Can you help me understand? Did you mean that the endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) only removed 50% of the high-grade dysplasia? So now cryoablation will be used to treat the remaining affected area?
Yes they removed 50% next in May I have an appointment for cryoablation for the effected area.I have high grade dysplasia only. No cancer was detected.
Hi I have cryo ablated for my Barrett esophagus with metaplatia with nuclear atypia. So some reason I went to cryo ablation. I would say it removed the precancerous but fell me into whole lot issues with pain and swallowing issue is big now for last 4 years . So sorry doesn’t mean to scare you all. I might had the choice of being on surveillance but went to hardest choice because we didn’t took second opinion. However if someone has a HGD , cryo / RFA is the best choice. But cryo ablate a bit deeper than RFA. All of these has cost and benefit. It will definitely buy you some time and some upper stomach pain , burn discomfort Will always be there.
