Plantar Fasciitis: How did you get rid of it?
I don't know if this is where this should be posted, but I have a few questions. Almost seems like it goes hand and hand with neuropathy.
Have you had it and how did you get rid of it. I have done 2 injections.. I use ice and ice bottle almost nightly, I've massaged, I've purchased special shoes, and I've worn compression sleeves, plus I've done the night splint.. It just won't go away. I know it's because of the atrophy on that calf.
If you've had it please share what worked for you to get rid of it.

that really depends on whose advice you're taking! I found my best function through listening to bodywork practitioners, such as yoga teachers, physical therapists, and orthopedists.
My husband and myself have had it several times, sometimes for months. What we did was buy some very good arch supports from Amazon around $40, ice the foot after walking and try to stay off our feet as much as possible. So far, 2yrs., it later it hasn't come back and we can walk as much as we like...good luck !
Always wear shoes with good arch support and engineered for stability. You'll need to find a GOOD shoe store. Our best is one which sells to a lot of runners.
Does anyone have ever suffered from plantar fasciitis? It is a painful foot condition that happens all of a sudden. I have suffered from it twice now and it is caused by using flat shoes or high heel shoes. If you have had it share your experience. I have been treated with cortisone shots (only once it didn’t work, it worsen my foot injury). Cold & heat treatment (I used BFST boot to increase blood flow to the tear in my heel), and I wear special plantar fasciitis shoes. It can last one month to 6 months depending on your lifestyle. Rest is important. Thank you

I, too, have had plantar fasciitis. Besides time, consistent stretching and rolling my foot on a frozen water bottle helped me the most. I really didn't like the rest part. That was hard to accept. How are you doing with resting?
I have plantar Fasciitis. been treating it with ice and better shoes and arches. had a shot and then Prednisone neither helped. waiting for an MRI. they think I have a tear either in the fascia or in the Achilles tendon. i have a pacemaker so I have to have to wait for a rep from St Judes to shut off my pacemaker and turn it back on when the MRI is over. can't wait, trying to get crutches. too painful to walk on it.
Physical therapy for extended period with deep massages of my calf muscle and foot. She used a vibrator on my calf and foot. Heat and cold. Advil. Wore inserts in very supportive tennis shoe for months. Never barefoot in house, always wore the supportive shoes and slept in boot for at least 6 months. It takes forever!!! Sorry.
Mine went on for 8 months, tried all the conservative measures. Finally had an MRI. Part of my Plantar Fascia was torn and my heel bone marrow showed a lot of inflammation. Had Plantar Fascia Release surgery. Pain gone for 3 years now!
I too suffered from severe PF. I walk about 11 miles a day at work so that wasn't helping at all! I finally did get an injection and the podiatrist commented on the sandals I was wearing stating she really liked them for foot support. You have to wear the correct supportive footwear ALL the time and get rid of any shoe that doesn't support your foot! The sandals I was wearing are CLARKS - I think they're clouds tempers. I also wear safety shoes at work and finally got the expensive replacement inserts from the shoe company ($70 USD Red Wing). Bottom line is you can't be switching back and forth from a great shoe to "cute" shoes that offer NO support if you want to get better! Wear shoe's/sandals as much as you can. I was told not to wear any supports while sleeping.
Birkinstocks worked for me. You need good arch support.
