Tolerating lung biopsy and treatment: Any words of encouragement?

PET scan scheduled for Monday. If no other cancer, oncologist recommends removing the nodule from the lung - it’s about 1/2” x 1/2” - vs a biopsy. Does DNA test identify the type of cancer?

That’s exactly what I’m wondering about the DNA. I may be going to get biopsy as well. I have 2 on the lung, one he thinks may be a Melonoma. I’m not sure if I would follow up with anything if that’s the case. I had decided to not do anything, but saw my GP with my daughter and he said the biopsy is not intrusive. My question would be if I find out what it is does it matter as there is the other one. I had thought it was both lungs but found they are both on the one.
