@poppy67 That seems to be a common response from our doctors when they have a CKD patient. Have you been referred to a nephrologist, yet? If not, I would certainly push for that, plus a consultation with a renal dietician, Diet can play the biggest part in controlling our disease progression.

While many of us live with additional health concerns plus the CKD, watching our intakes of potassium, sodium, sugars, phosphorus, calcium, and protein in particular is important. Yes to avoiding anything but Tylenol, even topical creams containing aspirin [although I do take an 81mg aspirin each morning for blood clots prevention] Clear carbonated drinks like Sprite of 7up are okay, To address your arthritis pain, some people have used CBD creams or gummies, but be careful of overdoing that so it doesn't interact with your current medications.

Getting to the root cause of your kidney disease and addressing that will also help you not progress. Does any of this sound right for you?

Thanks Ginger. Yes, I see a nephrologist and she is wonderful. I have been able to get my numbers from 3 to 2.8. I am working more and more on diet. Thanks for your tips.
I had juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and had gold injections at age 14 when nothing else worked. Some of my doctors, including my nephrologist believe that might be the culprit.I’ve also taken lots of meds my whole life. I took up to 12 aspirin daily as a child and many cortisone shots.

I do have nephrologist that I have been seeing for over a year. The only thing that bothers me is I have been asking for a dietitian that can help me with my diet. I haven’t gotten one yet. I have been on line to see what foods are the best. He told me to stay off pork and beef. I have. I only eat turkey, chicken and tilapia (the only fish I like). I do watch my intake of sodium, potassium and phosphate. Once in a while I have 3oz of beef. All my meat is either air fried, roasted or baked. I don’t batter or salt. I use lemon juice and Mrs. Dash seasoning. I also eat frozensteamable vegetables. I have lost almost 70 lbs. I just wanted to know what other people eat. The internet has me confused. Not on what I’m eating now. Some says I can have, let’s say for example block cheddar cheese and in another web site says you can’t at all. Anyway, I just want to know what everyone else eats, so I can get a better view. Mayo Clinic is a reputable place. Oh, I also am a diabetic and I have diverticulosis and have to have that consideration in my diet. Thank you for listening.
