I posted previously, seeking any feedback regarding experience, with the Intracept procedure.
Has anyone had the procedure, and if so, please tell me your overall response.
I began having back pain, in my teens. I am now 50, and have had multiple epidurals and injections, over the years, and have recently have medial branch nerve ablations at L4-5, L5-S1. Relief has been minimal. I have been in and out of PT, and continue the recommended exercises at home. I have tried massage therapy, tens unit, oral meds, topical meds, dry needling, and probably some other treatments I can’t recall at the moment. I have advanced osteoporosis, and recently diagnosed with seronegative RA, after being screened 4 other times, over the last 25 years, and told I was negative, because of the negative bloodwork. I am undergoing treatment for both, and seeing some improvement.
I also have HSD, hypermobility spectrum disorder.
Due to my HSD, as well as my osteoporosis, I am not the best candidate for a fusion.
My low back pain, can be quite debilitating. The Intracept procedure sounds promising, but I was really hoping to hear from some individuals that have actually gone through it. My insurance has approved it, after appealing the initial denial.
I have not yet scheduled a procedure date.
Anyone have any feedback?
Thanks.
I’m having the Intracept procedure on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. I have L4 and L5 bulging disc. I can’t bend slightly or I have lots of pain. Also have weakness in left leg. I will report back if it helps. I have been struggling with this for a year and have not been able to do a lot of the activities I love due to not being able to walk or stand for long periods. I am a 66 year old female.
