I’m sorry you are so miserable! What kind of tests and procedures have you had so far?
Medications?
I have had ct scans with contrast colonoscopy, endoscopy, gastric emptying and everything was normal. I've seen 3 gastrologists and have been told it's functional dyspepsia.
Yes I was diagnosed 3 years ago. There is no cure. I have checked with Cleavland clinic and around the world basically. What I have found is watch the amount you eat, what you eat and when you eat. No it is not something I would have wished for, but there are so many out there with worst disease. It is not your gallbladder, you are not having a heart attack and most care givers do not know it exists. Take a real good probiotic every night , keep your gut clean and be functioning and be great full for what it is not.
I was recently diagnosed with Functional Dyspepsia and the only symptom I have is upper abdominal burning (not inside the stomach itself). They started me on Desipramine 25mg (a low dose tricyclic for pain but in larger doses it treats depression). I'd like to know what others have found helpful and what symptoms you have.
Hello:
Looking for some assistance with my chronic stomach issues with functional dyspepsia. They began early last year when I vomited on the tennis court while playing a match. I thought I had a stomach bug so I took it easy for a few days.
The stomach never really felt right after that and I began vomiting while playing tennis with alarming regularity. After vomiting, I would be unable to eat and as a result, by the end of 2023, I had lost 29 pounds. I had all sorts of tests, colonoscopy, endoscopy, abdominal CT and a gastric emptying test. They did find gastritis but nothing else. I took Omeprazole for a few months and I now take meds for depression and anxiety because they could not determine any other causes. I took about 3 months off of tennis, put on a little weight and things settled down for awhile. I started playing again a few months ago and all was OK but now things are deteriorating again but I have noticed something…When I play tennis in the morning I never have a problem, but when I play in the afternoon or evening, I vomit almost every time. I have played tennis for my entire life and I really don’t want to give it up but I played last night, vomited, and have barely been able to eat anything since.
I am open to any suggestions..Thank you.
