Welcome to Connect, @leonardwolfer. I moved this discussion to the Bones, Joints & Muscles group where there are more discussions about hip, knee and ankle replacement surgeries. I'm tagging @kareniowa, @gwenie and @gene47, who may be able to provide their thoughts and recommendations as they both posted on Connect about ankle replacement. You may be able to find out about the manufacturer that Mayo Clinic uses by calling the numbers on this webpage http://mayocl.in/1mtmR63.

Are you preparing for ankle replacement? What questions do you have?

Thanks for your help. Yes, I am scheduled for right ankle replacement on October 27. Of course being 81 years young, I am a little apprehensive about it. I am just interested in getting as much info as I can. It gets a little spooky as I am the only driver in the family and possiably being unable to drive for an extended period is a little concerning. Again, thanks for your response.

The day following the arthroplasty, what will be my condition to move to my hotel? What kind of appropriate transportation is there from Mayo Clinic in Phoenix?

I have several questions. Age 73, head on car wreck, 1969, shattered ankle. Chronic pain. What is the best ankle replacement available and is my age an issue? I have had knee replacement on same leg 2017
