May I ask why you replace it so frequently? My ID doc recommended every 6 weeks, with the cup, when used daily.

If your tubing stays dry, or you use the compressor to expel any moisture before turning it off, there is nowhere for bacteria to grow in it.

That is what I found for instructions. Every two weeks. Maybe that has changed to monthly? I think it was the NJH recommendation as well as some other places? But anyway I always have infection with my chronic Pseudomonas and about 3 ounces of mucus daily. I take great care to run the machine 3 minutes at the end to expel moisture and i also keep it hung in a place where it will dry out and stay sterile. Even so in my case I feel more comfortable with 2 weeks since you cannot sterilize the tubes. Were you really told to replace the cups every 6 weeks? I replace the cups every 4 months or so as instructed since they can be sterilized.
