hip symptoms or...

I was getting PRPs which helped my bone on bone hip joint (groin pain). It worked. THEN I developed sharp pain in the middle of my left butt cheek. If this 'catch' would happen (due to certain movements) it would radiate down the back of my leg (same side). All of this is on the same side. I've seen doctors who disagree. I was wondering what symptoms you've had and what was wrong. Please.

First a doc said pain in the middle of the butt cheek (aching/radiatng down the back of the leg) wasn't from the hip jojnt but from the back. I saw a back surgeon. (xrays and mri's) No back problems. No diagnosis either. Of course one doctor don''t want to disagree with one in the same organization...I get that. I saw my pain doctor who said it's the SI joint. He's going to do an injection procedure to verify.

So I have two problems. A bone on bone (groin pain) resolved with PRPs. This new pain is SO much worse and disabling. So my question to you people is what symptoms did you have for your hip joint problem that having a hip replacement fixed? You...not asking you to diagnose me. Please. Thank you.

@rose70

What stretches do you do for your SI joint?

Thanks

It's been a while, so I don't remember specifically which of my many daily stretches were for the SI pain. If you Google, I'm sure you can find them.
If I had more time this morning, I would look, but am out the door to a meeting.

I have bone on bone in my hip as well as full of arthritis. No pain, but have a very sharp pain when I move a certain way, doesn't go down the leg. on the same side as the bad hip. Years ago, on the same side as this hip, I had bone on bone knee with no pain. I did have pain in the hip at that time. The Dr said this was from my back, not the hip. Well, I had that knee replaced and there was no more pain in the hip. It turned out to be "referred pain". Now I am having this horrible sharp pain occurring between the hip and the back. I had back surgery nearly 2 yrs ago and surgeon says it is not from my back. I have been to 2 Drs. about this hip. Both say don't have surgery if there is no pain. However, I believe this pain I am having is "referred" pain from the hip, just like it was with my knee. I don't want to have surgery, but this sharp pain is keeping me "down" and I am not getting any younger. I am in good health altho I am 84. I am considering going to Jacksonville Mayo clinic to get their opinion.

I gradually started having groin pain and random bouts of hip, low back and butt pain. It took a few years but I eventually got to where I couldn’t walk without a Cain then quite quickly I became dependent on a walker then even quicker became bed ridden due to the pain. I finally managed to get a couple MRI’s of low back (ddd) and hips (needed bilateral THR immediately) and knees but u aware of those results. This is all on top of arthritis naturally. I was diagnosed with OA and have bone density testing and take a med to help prevent further bone loss.

I had right THR done and am so much better. Need to have left done if I can quit smoking long enough then I can go back to walking unassisted. But pain isn’t as bad as it was it’s tolerated with meds of course.

Hope this helps. Let me know if I can be of any assistance. Good luck to you.
