You are so kind! Thank you for caring. I,too am a Christian. My husband just finished reading the King James Version. I’ve read so much of it. I’ve done Bible studies (Discipleship One and Two. I taught high school and other grades Sunday School. I have faith and believe in God who answers prayer. I apologize for sounding so hopeless. I am human and was going through a hard time, feeling such discomfort but I do have a foundation of faith. Forgive me for sounding otherwise. I should be more careful and concentrate on the blessings in my life which are many. I simply was going through a time when I guess I was feeling a little like Job. I am so sorry to hear about your husbands cancer and the bladder issues you are experiencing. I have interstitial cystitis so I can sympathize . You and your husband will be in my prayers. Again I thank you for your concern.

Hi Poppy,

It’s okay to feel like Job. That’s why he’s a biblical character. He’s overwhelmed and human. Thank you for reaching and being honest about your state of mind. It helps all of us to know we are not alone in this aging thing and all that it brings. Of course, God is with us and it can still be difficult. Whether you believe in an afterlife or not, this life is where we are. Also, the son of God was not excluded from pain and discouragement. His final prayers made it clear that he was at a breaking point. God gave Him what was needed to fulfill His life and purpose. I’m thankful for the presence of God in my life. When we’re depressed or discouraged for whatever reasons, we might not even feel God’s presence. That’s the worst, but a very real emotion…God honors that. His word encourages us, gives us a path…not a magic pill. I hope you have a friend, maybe your husband, pastor or counselor to talk to. That can make the burden lighter. Again, thank you for reaching out. You’re brave.
