Severe Pain from colorectal surgery, getting ostomy reversal
I had colorectal surgery recently on October 31st, 2022. The cancer was near the actual rectal muscle. The surgery was successful and a part of my colon was removed. I am in a temporary osteomy bag and my surgery is on February 6th, 2023, to reverse the operation and be back to normal. I go in for check ups, periodically, to see my surgeon and he scopes my colon out every time and he says I've healed perfectly and faster than most people he's ever dealt with. The only issue that I'm having is that pain is still there. It's hard for me to stand for long periods and it's hard to sit on hard surfaces. The pain is so annoying, and I'm a car salesman who relies on strictly commission to pay the bills, so standing is a big part of the job. The pain usually feels like it's from my knees and in my butt cheeks and tailbone. It's so excruciating that sometimes I feel like I might be mistaken when I say where the pain is coming from. My medication wears off in about 3-4 hours and the pain comes right back. I just don't know what to do anymore?

During those check ups over the last 3 months, what have your doctors said concerning your pain ?
I would think that they have experience with pain following a colon resection. I'm sure that you were prescribed pain medication.
Pain as you have described in knees to tailbone leads me to think that your pain may be something not directly related to colon surgery? Sciatic Nerve comes to mind .....
