Dr Blasser did my left hip and I loved him, he has since retired 😞 and I’m looking for another Dr at Mayo, any suggestions?

My Mayo hip surgeon not only left Mayo he left direct medical practice. He went to be the Chief Medical Officer of an investment fund.

After looking around I went with a non Mayo surgeon, Dr. Jimmy Chow, who invented and uses the superpath method. I am 77 and he replaced my left hip seven weeks ago and I have been painless from day one. I am now back out on the golf course.

I highly recommend Dr. Chow and his methodology. I would look for a surgeon using Superpath; if you can't find one near you, direct anterior is an alternative. Either way, look for one who has done lots and lots of them. For example, Dr. Chow has done more than 4,000 using his Superpath approach.

I even had pain a couple of inches below my knee. My surgeon, who also does knees, looked at the X-Ray and said it looked fine. My internist thought it might be bursitis. But, lo and behold, it has mostly gone away since my hip replacement. Must have been mostly referred pain.
