@brendaohrt You are asking a good question, and I see you have some experience with C1/C2 instability. That is a delicate situation. My physical therapist told me that it can be it can be very dangerous to move the spine with C1/C2 instability.

For myself, I would not want a chiropractor to move my neck. I had spinal cord compression at C5/C6 and adding extra pressure on an already compressed spinal cord (because of bone spurs) could damage the spinal cord. I did have decompression surgery and a cervical fusion which was successful.

Can you share what your providers have advised for you? Have you consulted a spine surgeon who specializes at those levels?
