Does anyone have a strange reaction to hormones? I've tried them all and everytime after about 3 days I get awful muscle cramps in my legs and arms and there so bad I can't sleep so I'll stop taking them and the pain goes away.

You may not be able to help... but at 74 I still have heat spells! I often wonder if a hormon imbalace can be part of the problem with severe depression. Any thoughts?

Has anyone had weird symptoms with hormone pills, I get severe cramping in arms n legs...I have tried different hormone pills but have to always stop them after bout 3 days cuz of this side effect. It gets so bad I can't sleep.

Yes I was in hospital. Was put to sleep and it was a failure. At 1st it was attempted in office but since my cervix is so hard to reach they put me in hospital...seems like he could of used meds or something to get cervix open

Hi @debra54, I noticed that you started a few different discussions on the same topic. To help keep everyone in the same discussion chat and keep you connected, I merged all 3 discussions into one here: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/hormones/

Have you considered getting a second opinion?

Do you think they tried a D&C, but failed? Did you read the description of what they did in MyChart? (My gyn oncologist doesn't communicate much with me directly, but he does write detailed descriptions of procedures in the chart, where I can see them.)

Can you go to a different doctor? This one doesn't seem to be making progress toward solving your problem. And you shouldn't have to deal with a doctor who dismisses your side-effects.

@debra54 You’ve brought questions to Mayo Clinic Connect that leads me to believe that your current doctor (gynecologist?) isn’t answering your questions or trying to figure out your symptoms. I can see that you are worried about endometrial cancer. I’m wondering if you are menopausal or if you are still having your periods? The thickened endometrium in your uterus is a question that certainly could be related to your symptoms and needs investigation. Since your current gynecologist was not successful in getting an endometrial biopsy during the D & C I think it’s time for another opinion.

You are in Canada in a small town? It may take some advocacy on your part but I’d recommend you talk with your GP (family doctor), talk about your concerns, and ask for a referral to another gynecologist in a larger medical practice. Referrals from your doctor smooth the way on getting an appointment and could get you seen more quickly. If that isn’t possible then can you call a gynecology practice in the larger city on your own and ask about an appointment?

Will you do that today? And then let me know what your plan is?

I'm going to have a 2nd opinion with a different gyn dr Thursday and I'll take mistoplol to open cervix this time so they should get biopsy so since my cervix will dilate with med it shouldn't be that painful?
