The N-Telopeptide test is relatively new, and exactly how to use it is a developing science.
The test needs to be interpreted by your provider based on your age, osteopenia/osteoporosis status, current medications and other factors. It is not an absolute measure standing alone.

Sue, so is a CTX test used more? I believe it measures collagen breakdown in bone resorption process. Where the P1NP measures bone build up? Are these tests typically used by physicans treating osteoporosis patients?
