Does anyone have ever suffered from plantar fasciitis? It is a painful foot condition that happens all of a sudden. I have suffered from it twice now and it is caused by using flat shoes or high heel shoes. If you have had it share your experience. I have been treated with cortisone shots (only once it didn’t work, it worsen my foot injury). Cold & heat treatment (I used BFST boot to increase blood flow to the tear in my heel), and I wear special plantar fasciitis shoes. It can last one month to 6 months depending on your lifestyle. Rest is important. Thank you

I, too, have had plantar fasciitis. Besides time, consistent stretching and rolling my foot on a frozen water bottle helped me the most. I really didn't like the rest part. That was hard to accept. How are you doing with resting?

Physical therapy for extended period with deep massages of my calf muscle and foot. She used a vibrator on my calf and foot. Heat and cold. Advil. Wore inserts in very supportive tennis shoe for months. Never barefoot in house, always wore the supportive shoes and slept in boot for at least 6 months. It takes forever!!! Sorry.

Hi @naviv, A number of years ago, I had it pretty bad in both feet for a number of months. I was fitted for orthotics. I used them and also used Thermoskin Plantar FXT (available on Amazon) at night during sleep. It wasn't a splint, it was soft and fit over the foot with a strap that could be adjusted to keep the toes in an upright position. I never got a shot or had any other treatment. The odd time I've felt slight pain in my feet I just wear the Thermoskins for a couple of nights until the pain goes away. Although my feet are size 6, I found it better to go a size up with the Plantar FXTs.

I have had plantar fasciitis a few times in the past. I did the stretching, the icing with the frozen water bottle, the physical therapy etc. I went to a podiatrist who, after a time, prescribed custom made orthotics for me. I have had them now for almost four years and wear them in my sneakers all the time. I could not believe the difference that they made. Since wearing them, I have not had any more plantar fasciitis! However, when I do have to wear dress shoes, my feet begin to hurt because they are not supported as well. I try to stick to my sneakers (Nike, with a higher heel, along with the orthotics!). Best wishes to you as you find a solution to this nagging problem! MaryAnn from Boston
