Hi,
My neurologist said she should be able to give me answers to the “tingling” bordering on painful tingling, in the back down legs, to bottoms of feet.
I had pain one night that was pretty bad and called the neurologists office after hours. The spasms were hitting pretty hard. She said to take more cyclobenzaprine. It helped some. My neurologist told me after this episode first, I needed to go to a pain management doctor and second, go to a NM Doctor for more answers.
I was in such pain I could not walk…
She will take my history and recent history. My neurologist is aware I have issues with swallowing etc. I had Bell’s palsy then facial weakness on other side long ago. Recently my eye crossed involuntarily. Its happened two times this month. Its happened before. But now with everything happening I think the NM doctor will piece together my history and current history with her evaluation and tests and help me.
The pain doctor wants to give me ablation, and epidural that would “deaden the nerves”. But not before the NM doctor. I’m sorry for all the details, but I thought it might help her rationale (I think). A few years ago a pulmonologist ordered a catscan of lungs (pain while breathing) it showed an enlarged thymus. The pet scan was negative for cancer. He than gave me Myasthenia Gravis blood test for I think it was called acetecholine (not sure that is correct spelling) It was negative. Then he put in the order for the musK blood test. I did not have that done. I didn’t like the fact that someone had to come to the house and take my blood. So did not complete his work up. I started to improve after a long few months. I don’t recall how long that went on for but it was a while.
I have autoimmune psoriatic arthritis they found in my sacrum. Not a factor. Between the lower extremities and other things hopefully she can piece together and tell me which is the neuropathy vs sacrum vs the fall I took when strange things started to happen. I have never been convinced all this is neuropathy. So we shall see if she can figure things out.
I probably said more than you were asking about. But to understand this and me I thought to give more background. I will include the periods of confusion I’ve been having. Some of this scares me. But I will go because I trust my doctor.
Anyhow, that is what I am going to tell her about. That and the strange sensations. I had one EMG in June of 21 or 22. That doctor just said its in the back. I could not feel the needle she was moving around in my foot. I think thats not right. I digress. I hope I answered your question!
Take care.
Thank you for your input.
