Hi Alfred, Looks like you're pointing to the SCM muscle. It goes from back to front.Probably strained it. Some lite self massage and some ice would be my go to for that.
I hope the injections help reduce your inflammation. The transforaminal injection helps me the most over other types of injections.
In the US many are having success with radiofrequency ablation for their stenosis. There is also a procedure call MILD, for laminar decompression. These are less invasive than fusion. I hope the new neurosurgeon will address your concerns and possibly some less invasive solutions. It could be the insurance company dictating your care . Sometimes they make you wait a time period you mentioned , and sometimes the disc recedes, it doesn't necessarily "heal," altho annular tears can close as the inflammation recedes, so I wouldn't call it repair or heal, bad choice of words on his part. Hope this helps.

Would stay away from Chiropractors and PT while you are so inflamed.in my experience they made it worse, except for neuromodulation which u said you can't find. Perhaps a massage therapist that's got at least 8-10 yrs and additional certifications besides the basic . Even then you could have a crisis reaction to even the Lightest massage, so be careful. And no therapy for 2 weeks after the injections, don't want to disturb the steroids.

Hi jm1,

thank you for your helpful reply.

I thought that radiofrequency ablation was for the facet joints.

Yesterday the transport accident insurer told me that they were approving the cortisone injections that I am going to get next week.

Can you believe that I haven't received the approval letter? The appointments have been booked and if I don't received that approval letter before next Tuesday it is going to put a spanner in the works and will have to reschedule.

In the last 2 days I stopped taking the pain medication because I have been so constipated for days. I haven't been able to eat and been feeling nausea. Every time I tried to eat something I kept burping up in continuation as if something was fermenting in my stomach.

Now the pain has come back with its full force.

I can't get no relief 24/7. Something is compressing the nerves in the neck either discs or bone spurs.

This is a chronic torture.

Cheers

Alfred
