I was diagnosed in November 2022. Invasive ductile breast cancer. Stage 1a, Estrogen & Progesterone positive, HEr2-, 4 mm tumor with 8 mm margins and negative node involvement. The decision on the type of surgery was not an easy one for me. I was very concerned about the potential damage to my lungs, voicing my concerns during a conference call with my surgical oncologist and pulmonologist. I asked to meet with the radiation oncologist before I made the final decision. That meeting was so very helpful. She was so understanding and explained how the radiation treatment can be done. When I left, I felt like I was back in the driver seat of my care. I had my "mapping" and tattoo on 1/13. I also had the images done while using the deep inhalation breath hold method, which helps to move the lungs away from the breast. My radiation treatments begin on 1/30.

I am thinking about you and hoping all is well after radiation. How are you doing?
