What problems have you had with Tamoxifen?

Tamoxifen is a bone sparing hormone blocker. I was on it 5 years, starting in 2000. I have been on it almost 5 more, starting in 2018. I have had no problems with it, no side affects, etc. I couldn't take the new medications I was put on so I asked if I could take it again. Oncologist said yes. I've had no problems with it. And I am very sensitive to medications. I hope this helps you.

This matches my experience. I am 69 and have been on tamoxifen for 8 years, and I actually like it. In addition to preventing breast cancer recurrence, it has slowed the progression of my osteoporosis. Initially, I had occasional hot flashes, but they were manageable — not severe. Your doctor will explain the few risks that attach to tamoxifen, so you can keep track and stay ahead of those. All in all, if a tamoxifen fan club existed, I would be a satisfied member.
