....hi, well I would have to find my last copy of lab reports for uti to be sure but sounds familiar, they are now adding that sample of urine could be contaminated, i.e. E-coli, and I have fecal incontinence. Although try and be as clean as I can it would not surprise me that some fecal matter was on my skin in that area even though had washed.... wonder if that's what it means... germs from skin in area got into the urine? Or from underwear etc? I do believe a lot of positive tests could be for this reason... apparently urine can be withdrawn from bladder so this doesnt happen, but then again read that catheters can "cause" urine infections??? Be interested to read more comments.

Yes, also hoping to hear more from others as well. A few months ago I also cultured for E-coli. I was shocked but the nurse said it is far more common than you know. We quickly think a person is dirty but as you've covered in your post it can happen no matter how "clean" you are.
