I am new to this as well and learning as I go. On protonics but very uncomfortable with them. Dr says I need 6 week course. I am terrified but trying to be strong.
I was on Esomeprazole. 40 mg 2 x a day for 6 months.
Severe acid reflux corrosion of the tonsiliary tissue.
(GERD)
It healed.
1 year later relapse.
Resumed esomeprazole.
Developed severe allergy: canker sores in mouth, lost skin roof of mouth, severe sore throat. Went to an oncology ENT. Now allergic to esomeprazole. Can not take ever again.
When I eat a spicy meal I use an OTC 20 mg pepcid or take an OTC Gaviscon tab.
It works.
As i get older (67 years old) I develop more allergies to medications.
Good Luck
Hope you feel better.
