Hi and sorry to hear about your husbands news. I am a male and was diagnosed November 4 2022 with IDC grade 2 ER positive PR negative and HER2 Positive. My experience so far is waiting for results which is frustrating but they will come. I had a mastectomy and sentinel lymph node biopsy on December 12th was scheduled earlier but I got covid right after diagnosis. Mastectomy was not bad, the worst part was under the armpit from the lymph node, not painful just annoying, I also had a drain in for 2 weeks that needed to emptied 3 times a day. I know this is a scary time for both of you, stay calm and strong and he will get thru it. As my wife told me its a small hiccup in a long life.

My first round of Chemo will be Wednesday 1/25/23 after six rounds it will then be 15 radiation treatments. Remember not all breast cancer needs Chemo or radiation. If your going to the Mayo I am sure the Oncologist will guide you through the process they have been great with me.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience, strength and hope. Best of luck with your chemotherapy and radiation. It sounds like you have a good treatment plan.

My husband is scheduled for a CT scan and an ultrasound of the lymph nodes tomorrow. Mastectomy and lymph
node biopsy will be done on Wednesday.

I want my husband to be as comfortable as possible post surgery. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thank you reaching out. It’s comforting to know we are not alone.
