Oncotype DX Test: What does it all mean?

I had skin sparing mastectomy on 4th Jan.Dr has planned chemo after 4 weeks.He also mentioned that we can have Oncotype DX test to know whether I need chemotherapy or not.Oncotype DX test isn't available in my country, Pakistan.Can anyone please guide from where can I get this test done?And how the sample can be transferred from Pakistan to a country where test can be done

Many of us have avoided chemo with the Oncotype Dx test, even with grade 3 tumors.

Yes I am in a similar Situation, RSResult 32. Finished Radiation 25 session , side affects from the radiation minimal, but it seems my air intake is reduced, body aches, sleep is affected. During all this I took Accupuncture and Myofascial Therapy which helped. Started with Arimidex and Dr wants to add Verzenio. When I read all the side affects it is scary. Anyone has similar experience, please share. Thanks

I am helping my cousin who has an Oncotype of 34. We did not expect this. Her pathology is grade 2, with the highest possible score for ER, but the Oncotype has an ER score of 7.5 out of 12. This is hard to reconcile and her current doc goes by the Oncotype to the extent that he didn't even have the pathology report during the first appointment. I am encouraging a second opinion. The question really is whether low progesterone means that hormonal meds are less effective, and some studies say no. My cousin is older and medically fragile already so she is weighing effects of chemo versus a 23% risk of recurrence on the Oncotype (with >15% improvement in risk with chemo). I was shocked that pathology wasn't even included in the discussion.

34 seems high - yes it would indicate chemo is needed. I was luck mine was in the middle a 22. So no chemo would improve my survival odds. Only you can make the decision about quality of life. Best of luck.
