Prostate Cancer- getting help-questions answered
Approximately 20 years ago a Urologist after listening to my symptoms and without doing procto or anything said I had prostate cancer and would schedule me for surgery next week-- my response was lets talk and chose to go on the blue pill and wait.
Since then after biannual tests and blood count going from 4 to 7 now 14, suggests getting a bone marrow test to see if any cancer cells show up.
My question is: should I consult a cancer specialist now???

Hi Group Members,
Unfortunately, our speaker for tomorrow's PCa Support Group meeting is ill and will not be able to speak to us. However, we will reschedule him to speak to us later this spring.
Tomorrow we will meet as usual at noon in Baldwin 1-507 and view a short video on "Depression, Bone Health, and Exercise in Prostate Cancer."
I don't recall our ever discussing the subject of Bone Health, so I hope anyone who has been treated medically for bone health will attend in person or via Zoom and share their experience with us.
As a reminder, for those who cannot attend in person, the Zoom link for tomorrow's meeting is:

Q: ADT therapy and Vit D & Calcium supplements.
Began 4 mos tx Orgovyx 5 day.
Any advice/recommendations for Vit D & Calcium?
My husband takes vitamin K2 with calcium. There is research that it it helps direct the calcium to your bones and out of your arteries. He also takes fiber to prevent constipation. Weight bearing exercise is needed to build bone as well.
What dosages of D, K2 and Calcium does he take?
Did anyone develop breathing difficulties while on Relugolix.
What is the latest thinking about low dose Abiraterone? I understand that recent studies show a single 250mg tablet with a light breakfast is as effective as the 1,000mg dose on an empty stomach
Is anyone else on this low dose protocol?
Maybe....slightly....but
Was it Covid? Because I'm getting older and harder to regain fitness after all the treatment? Loss of testosterone? Anxiety about all of it?
Correlation doesn't necessarily equal causation right?
It was fairly short lived, not debilitating in any way. Just took a lot longer to recover my running game. Only thing I have now are the dang hot flashes (Power Surges as my wife and I call 'em)
Thank you for your reply. I had similar problems while on Abiraterone, and had to stop taking it. Breathing was so difficult I couldn’t walk one block without feeling like I would collapse. Within two days after discontinuing Abiraterone I was breathing normal again. Since starting Relugolix the same side effects occurred, but not as serious. After an EKG, ECO, and stress test my Cardiologist says I am fine. It remains a mystery to me.
Thank you again.
