I called Bayer Miralax div. Asking how to measure a half dose of Miralax— which doctors at one point in hospital ER suggested .
Spokes person for Miralax said “ we don’t know — we only recommend full dose. You should ask your doctor” Does anyone know what half dose is?
On phone they said “17 grams covering white area of lid. Met with my primary care this am, will pour a cap full into a glads see how many tea spoons that is. Will cut that in half. For past week pm half doses calculated as half lid or less with 2 teaspoons of Benefiber working well for me; plan is to continue with Minimum possible Miralax
Can Benefiber be a good substitute for Miralax that was Prescribed to be taken daily? Can it be used while taking Miralax ? Mayo suggestions re daily schedule, diet, exercise all very helpful
I tried a half-dose of Miralax daily. To do so, I measured a full dose in teaspoons, which = 4 1/2 teaspoons. So a half dose is 2 1/4 teaspoons. Now I take 3 1/2 teaspoons daily, which is a good balance for me, along with twice daily psyllium or Citrucel. I was also taking 4 oz of prune juice in the morning but stopped due to it's high sugar content.

The one is have always used is no longer available. I recently bought Gaia . I will only use organic .

For past week have cut Miralax to about a teaspoon near bedtime find far less gas and it works.
Is it safe to take Miralax everyday? thx all!
My GI Dr told me Miralax is safe to take every day. If I still have bouts of constipation he said I could take up to 3 doses a day until it resolves.
