Hi there! : ) Sorry I did see this last night.I am doing better. It is a good thing since I was turned down by my provider to go to a specialty care center in Seattle due to the fact that they thing they can handle my issues "in house". Got to love the new Kaiser Permanent !
How are you doing these days?
HI Poppy,
Personally, I think you need a specialist and someone who is staying current with therapy options. I'm not sure how the American heath system works as I am Canadian. We do have access to specialists although it can sometimes take some time before getting in. If you go to your specialist annually, it is quicker to get in for an appointment. As for me, I'm mainly on pain management and anti-nausea meds until I see the specialist next Friday. I have been told that if I go to Emergency at the hospital, I will be admitted to get the pain under control, but to be honest, I hate going to the hospital. Not many people know what I am talking about, insist on pressing on my abdominal area, always with a confused look on their faces and a worsened aggravation of the abdominal area. I'd rather deal with the pain at home until I can get on some treatment plan.
@poppy73 , sorry I couldn't respond until after work. I really look forward to seeing your comments on this site. You help to collectively give our community a personality that makes each of us feel comfortable and leaves us with a desire to come back.
Feeling better is much better than bad, I am glad to hear you are feeling better and please don't make me talk bad about insurance companies, I can do it.
I am a little under the weather, colds and flu are going around my work and I have been battling "it" for a week. Got 3 hours sleep last night (boo hoo) but i'm on the mends and hope to get a little sleep tonight. MP is still asymptomatic. I have bouts of nausea and cramps from time to time, so do most people I know. So nice of you to ask.
Wishing you well,
Von @vondouglas
@kimh I agree with you.I do need a specialist. I have had so many years of being treated like a freak show I am more than willing to avoid blood draws, surgeries, and the questions.More like statements,” you’re so young” . I am a fourty year old with at 60 year old body. What more can you say.
I have bills. Then I am heading back into the loop again.
I agree. Anything that I have read seems to indicate that this is a disease that is more prevalent among elderly patients. I was diagnosed at 49, but because I had a hysterectomy at 40, it may be possible that my internal age is much older. Like you, I kept getting the 'you're too young to have MP'. Well it's nice to be a little extraordinary????
Interesting-Doctors suggested I have had this since I was around 8 possibly when I experienced some internal trama and got extremely cold as well. Ever since getting very cold has brought on an immediate gut reaction. Any kind of stress is not good for me. Autoimmune issues are a bit extreme in my family as well. How about others?- - -
Thank you 🙂 You are very generous Von, you made my night.
I wish you all were next door so we could support each other in person. These doctors don't have the experience to make most of us feel comfortable. So we got to do it eh? Last thing we need to do is feel like a alien...
Man take care of yourself Von. This cold and flu stuff is no joke. Have someone got get you a elderberry syrup , cuz the last thing you need to be doing is coughing with this condition.
I tend to think trauma for me. I was hit head on by a drunk driver about a decade ago. It is a unwanted gift that just keeps on giving. I was smashed from behind by a unbelted passenger into steering column. But I think it was seat belt and air bag that saved me and finished my gut off.
@poppy73 ,Thank you very much for the kind words and the advice. Cough is gone full steam recovery mode.
Thank you,
Von
I had a difficult night with pain and nausea to be honest. I am on oxycodone for pain and ondansetron for nausea.
