@jchet, I have lymphedema in my legs and now wear compression socks during the day. Before being diagnosed my feet sometimes felt warm. I'm guessing it could be from the inflammation and swelling that causes the warm feet and not the small fiber neuropathy. I have idiopathic small fiber neuropathy with just numbness and I struggle to keep my feet warm now. There are several conditions that may be causing the swelling.

Have you discussed the swelling with your doctor?

My dermatologist gave me the best advice - to elevate my feet above my heart for 30 to 45 minutes twice a day. No more swelling in my feet, ankles and lower legs; and no more water pills.

I don’t want to scare you but my feet and about a foot above my legs was swollen. Then it just went away and about 4 months later my neuropathy started ? I have no idea if they are related so just take this as something that happened to me.

John - must have missed your prior post. I share your experiences, with me, lower leg swelling south of the knees. My old army friend was an RN for 25 years told me to begin drinking roughly 50 oz of water a day which I did starting 3 weeks ago and reduce salt intake. Big help, just thought I'd pass it on. In 36 hours, I noticed difference and first thing each morning, I drink 12 oz of water and sip throughout the day.
