I have heard about Ashwaganda. I would imagine one has to go to a certified Ayurvedic practitioner in order to get the right stuff. I mostly stay away from herbal or OTC stuff that I have no experience with since I am small and have IBS and am hypersensitive to substances. However I think it is a good thing to be open to alternative sources of help.

Actually ashwagandha is relatively safe and easy to get. IBS might be linked to not only EBV but as I found out possibly blastocystis hominis. Black seed oil ( known to suppress EBV) and oil of oregano are actually effective and might significantly help. Numerous studies have been done with these. They’re readily available and generally safe. Black seed oil is effective for respiratory problems like asthma and is proven effective against h pylori compared to triple therapy. The only main interactions with black seed oil and oil of oregano is they can lower blood pressure and blood sugar so if you’re on medication for that it could have additive effects and could increase anticoagulant effects.
