In march 1991 at the age of 15 her problem started. ever since we have gone from doctor to doctor in mental health field in tx.. she has done talk therapy, medications, lithium ,olanzapine, zolpidem, vistaril, trazadone, abilify ,
zol
ft, deep t m s, ketamine, spravato, went to refrew center in pennsalvania for anorexia. had 2 hospitalization and follow through with day program .
we are at our wits end, do not know what to do.
thinking of bringing her to mayo clinic for correct diagnosis. she starts feeling better and quits medicine and therapy. diagnosis are /were, anorexia, depression, anxiety, m d d, p t s d, bipolar mood disorder, personality disorder.

Bless you for being a concerned family member to this person and their struggles! It does sound like so many different things have been attempted. I agree that if you can get her to Mayo Clinic for an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan, you might be heading in the right direction. A very sad cycle .. they feel better so they discontinue rx since rx have so many horrible side effects they feel they aren’t needed

When she starts feeling better, she must still take her medications! She has a chemical imbalance in her brain and can't be cured, but she can be in remission. Talk therapy is also important, although it can be spaced out so appointments are less frequent. A trusted therapist can recognize when symptoms worsen or improve and can discuss with her whether meds need to be reviewed or tweaked.
