Anybody taking this medication and experiencing side effects: INSOMNIA, depression, joint pain, ANXIETY, tingling nerves, dry mouth, fatique, excessive urination, heart pressure or palpatations, scatchy throat, etc, etc,. This is a nightmare!! What side effects are you experiencing and how do you handle it?????

I take 40mg 1/2 hr before supper and the only side effect I get is muscle cramps in my calf of the leg. I've been on it for about 5 years. I get scoped this year so I hope I have no issues.
I’m on 40mg pantaprozole for 9 months now and so far no issues.
Well, there’s hope then they keep changing my PPI but I think I’ve got a stick to this one despite the side effects. If something doesn’t work, I’m gonna have to consider the surgery and I am not eager to do so. 🙂
What surgery are you referring to? I had Covid Jan 2022. Recently been told I might have splanchnic modui. I can’t find a lot on this anyone dealing with the same thing??
Btw, ilean good luck with your condition. Can’t you ask Dr. to explain more clearly?

I am sorry you are experiencing the symptom. Unfortunately I am as well. I am on 40 mg and have all the side effects you mention. I am on day 11 of a 30 day course . I had a cholecystectomy 5 weeks ago and have been in agony with Epigastric and abdominal pain since.
I agree with whoever said the PPI,s are for short term use, and I am very frightened that my symptoms are not relieved completely by the PPI’s.
I am wondering if anyone tried lecithin and or slippery elm for your gastric symptoms or naturopathy?

Cant tolerate PPIs OR Pepcid AC with Stomach Ulcer
PPIs have serious side effects( Anxiety, tendon and joint pain, neurothapy, depression,INSOMNIA, nightsweats etc, etc) but nobody seems to recognize this!!!
How do you treat a Stomach Ulcer when you cant tolerate these medications??? Any Advice. HELP Im at the end of my rope!!
Apologies for my naïve I am New to all this .Are there other ppis with fewer side effects?or can I have some people tolerate one but not another PPI? I ask because I’m having terrible joint pain on the generic of Protonix. I don’t think I had the same issues with other ppis. But it could be the length of time or dose. If anyone knows anything about this, I appreciate some feedback. Of course I’ll ask my doctor also. 🙂

Somewhat. But side effects subside over time. I have been thinking of having nissen fundoplication or linx procedure for GERD and hiatal hernia.
