Question About Black Hard Skin Areola
Has anyone had black flaky hard skin on the aerola and what was the diagnosis? Did you see a gynecologist or a dermatologist for diagnosis?

I would start with gynecologist unless you have a breast doctor. I get my mammogram at a breast Center with doctors who specialize in breast care, diagnosis and surgery . If you have such a center in your community go there. 🌸
@hopenfaith, I agree with @anjalima that you should see a doctor about this change in the skin around your nipples. It's important to see a doctor when the areloa is
- peeling
- flaking
- only one nipple changing color
- itchiness
- redness
- lumps
Is this happening to only one breast or both? Is this a new symptom?
Happening on One breast
and a new symptom
@hopenfaith, have you called your doctor? A new symptom like this should be investigated.
Yes I contacted my out of state NY Oncologist and they said to see my dermatologist first. Im fearing its Pagets disease☹️
Information is what you need. It’s very scary to have an unexpected symptom without a medical professional weighing in. Our fears can go wild especially during a week where medical appointments are uniquely unavailable. Get your appointment as soon as possible and then take a breath step back and find a great diversion until you understand more about your symptom. I’m Rooting for you! Hugs 🌸
