Hi Suziq52... the nurse mentioned a tube but I didn't realize an NG tube was even on the radar. Sorry you had to go through that. Not pleasant, I'm sure. I got through it with meds and 7 days in hospital. Came home on soft diet. Eating egg custards, yogurt. Some fish. My bowel habit are all over the place, not a pleasant Christmas. Does the plumbing really start to work normally? If so, how long did it take you to get to the point of not thinking about it? Thank you so much for sharing. It really helps.

I am so glad you did not have to have that NG tube! It is medieval torture. Sounds like you are doing pretty well. My bowel habits were sometimes gas, sometimes loose, sometimes not for several weeks list surgery. My surgeon suggested Metamucil to bulk up my stool. I tried that plus going back gradually to my previous largely plant based diet and after about 9 weeks I am fairly consistent. Also a big change from when I had ongoing diverticulitis! I am sure you will get there!
