Hello @kerbowski,
I hope that by now you have some answers to the elevated heart rate. Were the ER doctors able to lower the heart rate with meds?
I had an elevated heart rate once because I was dehydrated. I happened to be in the ER at the time for other reasons and they gave me a simple saline IV and the heart rate went down toward normal. Now I drink more water every day.
My 28 yr old son had and still has an elevated heart rate.
At times 170 range. In the ER he was tested for infections, blood clots, dehydration, anxiety and kidney problems. He was treated with medication s for various thing. Turns out he had NONE of these issues. Finally he was tested for Covid, and bingo, it came back positive! He was vaccinated and boosted.
So now he is with a cardiologost. Did a stress test and is wearing a holter moniter. Heart rate still spikes. But hopefully they will sort it out.
Good luck to you. When it comes to the heart, they have many tools.
Hi!
I have high blood pressure and I have noticed how much water will calm your heart rate down. It's amazing how much you can drink and feel so much better! I also take amlodipine and other blood pressure medications which help a lot. But when I'm feeling anxious, water will help immensely! I hope everything goes well. I will say a prayer for both of you.
