I am 78 and agree that age is the most significant factor. We are living longer, less active, retiring sooner and think we're 50. I have a lights-out switch on my butt. If I sit and relax I will nod off.

Oh Bob, Thanks for the laugh when you said "I have a lights-out switch on my butt. If I sit and relax I will nod off."
I know a lot of folks like that, just not me. Instead I have a "paralysis switch" on my recliner sofa - once I sit down there (usually to watch the local news) my active day is over! I even covered the spot with a pillow, but it didn't help. I'm thinking of rearranging the furniture to get that out of the room, but I hate sitting on the cold, hard floor.

Join the crowd of " lights out" somewhat elderly people.. I'm approaching 85 and this year it hit me . I must be getting old ? HOWEVER IF I HAVE MY garage projects going ( woodworking) then I'm wide awake and just charge on; wide awake.. ---KEEP MOVING!! John in Palm Springs

Ok this 81 year old lady is giggling now ~~ lights out indeed.

Thanks for the visual and laugh over the “lights out” switch!!

Love your “lights out” analogy. I have one too. Thanks for the chuckle.

If you take high blood pressure meds, this often is the cause of decreased energy. The good news is you can change the brand of that medication to may be a better reaction.
