It might be very helpful to keep a food journal throughout the day. That way, when you have discomfort, you can look at what you were eating prior to the pain and find the foods that trigger the pain. You could also use this to track stress and other activities that might trigger pain.

My husband had an embolization on his liver and it's almost 2 weeks, he's in alot of pain and I'm not sure what to give him to eat.......he doesn't have much of an appetite but I got some soup and a grilled cheese into him last night. We are healthy eater's so the norm won't work, brown rice and veggies I think would bother him right now! Feel better! I will give him the pre-made Muscle Milk, maybe try that? It seems gentle on the stomach....
