I like Epic, too, but I am still making and keeping and obtaining hard copies of everything just in case. But, then, I'm a "belt and suspenders" kind of person. I don't want my medical information held hostage by some hackers looking for a payoff.

Sometimes, a paper backup is not a bad idea. You need to know your clinic's procedures. A provider once told us that Mayo keeps records forever, but some clinics delete records after a certain number of years.

I can testify to Mayo keeping forever. They scanned in all old paper records when converting to online records. I requested my mother's medical records after she died. I wanted to share them with her siblings in case some of her medical issues may be passed on to her children. The records I received went back to when she delivered babies in the 50s.
