What is the average age of the gentlemen on here?

Welcome to the club. I’m 58 and just diagnosed with Stage 1 prostate cancer. I’m awaiting more testing, then what treatment.

I'm 75. I had my proctectomy combined with the removal of a large bladder diverticula 5 1/2 years ago. I had bladder issues before my surgery. As a result, I'm incontinent and manage by wearing diapers. Since my prostectomy I have developed heart failure and had back surgery which have contributed to my bladder problems. On August 22 I lost my wife to Creutzfeldt Jakob disease...a very aggressive brain disease for which there is no cure. I'm getting by, but it's not easy.

Hi. I'm 69 and 2/3, but I simply say I'm 70. Two years ago I had become totally asexual (aside from a bit of masturbation, more out of curiosity to see if the plumbing still worked). My PCD referred me to a urologist, my testosterone levels were low and so I began getting a shot of testosterone every 3 weeks. After 6 months with no apparent progress (progress would have been increased energy, daily erections, weight loss, ) I was told to get a blood test. I did and the urologist stopped giving me the shots. After a month I had to get another blood test, then a biopsy and finally an MRI. On June 16th I had surgery. I had a real lot of blood mixed with my urine for the first few weeks but it gradually diminished. A week after the surgery there was so much blood that I panicked and went to the local ER. They checked me out and sent me home.

Now, 4 months later, there is not a spot of blood but I still have problems with incontinence. I wear adult Depends when I go out. When I'm home I don't need to wear anything. My 4 cats don't give a damn as long as I feed them and clean out their litter boxes. I do try to go without ingesting liquids after 5pm. That's the only way I can sleep without disruption.

I'm very sorry for the loss of your wife and all your health issues on top of the PCa which is bad enough. Try to be strong and take it one day at a time. We're all praying for you.

I'm in the process of getting scheduled for SBRT at Rochester. I'll be lurking on the prostate-cancer group.

I’m 47, diagnosed 3 month ago with metastatic cancer (bone), currently receiving chemotherapy 6 doses of docetaxcel (3 done, 3 to go) + Nubeqa + Eligard injection every 3 months.

Now 72, had surgery and 36 radiation treatments at 54. After six years psa returned, intermittent lupron since. Now 2 years off lupron trying PSMA approach.

I am 63 and my brother had his prostate removed at age 55.
Will be getting proton radiation hopefully in Jan.

This year, at 84, I was diagnosed and started Hormone therapy and have just completed 28 Radiation treatments. My Gleason score was 4 / 4 = 8. It is my understanding I am too old for surgery. I don't have any other debilitating health issues. (That I know of) My hope is the treatments will delay the inevitable. More will be revealed.
