Ischial tuberosity/ bursitis (sit bone) pain
Anyone found effective treatments for this pain aggravated by sitting and prolonged standing? Tried shockwave, injections, acupuncture, dry needling,
PT, etc.

Absolutely nothing helped my bursitis pain in my hips or butt until a doctor finally drained the bursae. Had a little bit relief right away, then the pain gradually faded over about two months, and then no pain since. Have you had the bursa drained when you had the injections?
Best wishes,

Thanks. May I ask where you received the treatment?
It was a pain management doctor. I got a list of pain management and rheumatologist doctors from my insurance company, and just sat calling them until I found one that 1) used doppler, and 2) drained the bursae before injecting.
When I found one, I got my PCP to give me the referral. It was painful having them drained, but only took a few minutes, and when he was done, I began to have a little bit of relief. Then over the next few weeks, the pain subsided more and more.
I found out about the draining after I don't know how many hours of researching on the internet.
I know bursitis can be very painful. I hope you get relief soon.

Which medical group ?
It was a doctor here in central Florida, not a Mayo doctor. Are you in this area?
No.
Thanks.
I have terrible pain in my sits bone after sitting for half an hour. This happened after moving to a new house, lifting at stepping up a high step. Any advice appreciated
Hi. I live in central Florida and have recently found that I have ischial bursitis. For 2 years. It was so bad at one time, I could just barely walk with a cane. Its never went away, its getting really bad again. Haven't sat down for 3 weeks now except to ride in the car. Would you mind telling me what doc you went to?
Thanks.
It is so frustrating that most doctors won't even tell you about possible cures! They just want to keep pushing the drugs, and injections, which do not work. My hip pain wakes me up at night, but my pain doctor never mentions anything but the shots, which I have tried several times; NO help at all. I will ask him about the draining; never heard of it before you told us. Thanks!
Pain clinic will help you.
