Good evening @kay44. And, of course, welcome to Connect. As I hope you discover quickly, this forum is all about sharing. And that is the way that we all learn about our conditions and that means me. How I wish I had asked your questions earlier before I followed the wrong person to make my decisions.
My daughter worked for periodontists for years and I never thought to ask them. When I did, their feedback about my situation was priceless. I think I am finally on the right path. What did help me was talking directly to the medical professionals at the manufacturer's headquarters. The number for Amgen which makes Evenity and Prolia is 800 772-6436....option 2.
Evenity is the newest bone-building osteoporosis medication so its history is still evolving. It also has the ability to prevent reabsorption to some degree.
I am so sorry you have had such a rough road so far. I also chose a bone-building route with Tymlos. My problem was an anxious endocrinologist who started me on bisphosphonates before my Dexa scores indicated that there was a sense of urgency.
Please let me know if you received the appropriate information for your decision.
May you be free of suffering and the causes of suffering.
Chris
Thank you for your kind reply. I will call the company, but I am also looking for the original phase III trials of this drug to learn more about how many people have had cardiovascular side effects. So far, I know nothing about Tymlos, but I will explore it. Kay44
