Welcome @ceciilia, My neuropathy numbness started in my toes like yours but gradually got worse over 20 years but I never had any pain with mine. I also have the curled (hammer toes) on both feet. I posted my story in another discussion here - Member Neuropathy Journey Stories: What's Yours? - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/comment/310341/.

I'm not sure how much reading you've done on neuropathy but here are a couple of good sites if you want to learn more about the condition:
-- Neuropathy Commons: https://neuropathycommons.org/
-- Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy: https://www.foundationforpn.org/

How long ago did you first notice your neuropathy symptoms?

John - just noticed a post you did where you mentioned the hammer toes. In 2016 I had gone to the University of PA Hospital, they have a neurologist there who specializes is inherited PN. Just one of the many things I' ve gone through to determine cause of my non-diabetic neuropathy. He checked my blood work for Charcot Marie Tooth and he kept asking me more than once about any family member with hammer toes, as you know, a symptom of CMT. Interesting, I had a grandmother who had hammer toes each foot. The blood work came back with what he called weak outside markers but not strong enough to cause my PN.
