@ceciilia

I developed neuropathy from my knees down on both legs. It keeps me awake at night with stinging and get up to sleep in a recliner. It started with my toes curling on both feet and progressed from there with less toe curling now and more numbness in left leg and when walking ankle numbness. Gabopentin made me sleepy on a low dose - stopped it. I will be starting Lyrical sp? soon. I am getting conduction testing soon.
Anyone have a similar story?

Welcome @ceciilia, My neuropathy numbness started in my toes like yours but gradually got worse over 20 years but I never had any pain with mine. I also have the curled (hammer toes) on both feet. I posted my story in another discussion here - Member Neuropathy Journey Stories: What's Yours? - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/comment/310341/.

I'm not sure how much reading you've done on neuropathy but here are a couple of good sites if you want to learn more about the condition:
-- Neuropathy Commons: https://neuropathycommons.org/
-- Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy: https://www.foundationforpn.org/

How long ago did you first notice your neuropathy symptoms?

Hi Cecilia. I took gaba for a while then Lyrica then settled in on gaba max dose . It helps about50-60% pain reduction which is good. It has analgesic effects on me so I take short naps 2-3 xs daily which I enjoy after my excercising. Johnmacc
