@cynthiaslife I had a radical hysterectomy at Mayo Clinic in Rochester in 2019 after I was diagnosed with endometroid adenocarcinoma, Stage 1a. I had a recurrence in October, 2021 after a small growth was found in the vaginal cuff during a cancer surveillance appointment. I returned to Mayo Clinic in December, 2021 for radiation treatments. I've been keeping up with my appointments and now almost a year after I started those radiation treatments I'm doing well and no further signs of that cancer. It's a day's drive for us to get to Mayo Clinic but it's so worth it. I feel I've received excellent care there as will you.

I am so sorry to hear that the cancer returned and you had to have radiation. What is a cancer surveillance check? Do you get those at Mayo or with your hometown doctor?

I have been going back to Mayo every four months after My hysterctomy. I usually get the CA 125 blood work and a cervical exam. Is this the usual procedure you also received? My next visit will include X ray. Did you have this as well. As you know, you have been my source of what to look for because I have gone through the same experience you did and because of all that you shared, it has eased my anxieties. I'm so grateful to have been able to connect with you since my very first day of finding out my diagnosis. I'm so very happy to hear that all went well for you and that your felling much better. Thank you for your suppor.
