Setback in my diagnosis: Stage 2 changed to stage 3

1rst radiation treatment today...anxious

Will your radiation therapy be combined with chemotherapy infusions? That worked really we for my husband prior to surgery.

I have stage 4 esophageal cancer. It is responding well to chemotherapy and I am able to eat “normally” and walk four miles a day. I am very fortunate to have a loving and support wife that helps me deal with my condition. Stay positive and do what you can to support your treatments. they told me 2 days after my first chemo would be worse than the day after AND THEY WERE RIGHT! i do not feel like myself at all! my whole digestive/stomach area is affected...nausea, constipation, feeling full, tired , ect...

How many rounds do you have?
Ask for medication for constipation and nausea (zofran ! Take it before the nausea comes it’s easier to stop this way). For constipation meta mucil?
Rest stay in bed when you are tired.
It will come by waves.
Stay strong !

6 rounds of chemo...paclitaxel and carboplatin...they gave me laxative and ondansetron for nausea

How are you ?

Talk to your doctor. They can add additional anti-nausea medications, either intravenously or oral. Be careful as some of the drugs make you restless. Good luck and hope you feel better!
