Unusual excessive sweating.

Posted by NJ Ed @njed, Nov 13, 2022

Does anyone else experience excessive sweating during warm weather in particular areas around back of neck, head and upper chest? If so, can this be a result of sensory PN? Seems to be in areas that are not impacted by peripheral neuropathy.

theparrottrooper - If you have several doctors that recommend that you go to Mayo, they are likely giving you the best advise they can. I can tell you first hand, I went to Mayo in MN in early 2020 because of my various weird symptoms of sensory motor peripheral neuropathy and because I was on Medicare, only Mayo in MN would accept me. They performed a variety of comprehensive testing over several days. Although they were unable to provide me with a cause, my wife and I left there knowing exactly what I had and felt the trip was well worth it. Apply and go if you can and take someone with you. Wish you the best! Ed

Thank you so much Ed! I truly appreciate your advice. I just have to find someone to stay with my husband while I’m gone, he has lung cancer and it just metastasized to his brain, so he’s not to big on going anywhere right now. I have to find someone to come with me as well. Especially because of the fact that I can hardly walk without grimacing or even collapsing in pain.

Hello all my thinking is to see a dermatologist or Endocronlogy or both I guess where we our getting older and with a specific diagnosis Simone in this area of experience might give more direction as to what’s going on as our standard PCP and Neurology won’t be looking for Testerone, Estrogens , Pituitary glands, etc . From 2008 until 2014 I was a certified fitness trainer with holding card at ISSA sports institute. With a certificate in nutrition as well and lifted weights from 13 teen until I was 42
I know these folks look into these areas as that is there expertise. I know that I was low in some areas with a full blood panel endo’s can see these changes and ad what your body is lacking for you over all well being it’s been awhile since I’ve seen one it’s time for sure after ready all these posts all with the spinal Arachnoiditis I have it won’t hurt to get the full lipid panel done to see where you our at . Lower testerone, and estrogen we all have men and women both that’s what makes energy , strength , mind , the whole kit and coopdudle Hope I spelled that right. Again I think it time for the levels to be checked your PCP can write a script for it and demand to see an Endocrinologist

From the Mayo Clinic “Primary hyperhidrosis is caused by faulty nerve signals that trigger eccrine sweat glands to become overactive. It usually affects the palms, soles, underarms and sometimes the face. There is no medical cause for this type of hyperhidrosis. It can run in families.”

But sometimes I feel like I'm sweating and I feel myself and it feels like I'm not. But other times it does feel like it I'm sweating and feel a little wet.

I experience this. My neurologist says it looks like I have dysautonomia in which I can have reaction to extreme temps to name a few.

Yes, have started with excessive sweating in various temps both inside and outside. It started with my accident and the need for various medication for chronic pain.Igot a script for Clonidine which kind of helped but it lowers your blood pressure and now I have a heart condition.I recently was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis and this auto immune disease has changed my sweating into rivers of water down my neck ,chest ,groin ,stomach etc and my pillow and sheets are actually wet every morning.aI got so used to being wet during the night that I put a towel under myself and didn’t bother getting up to change some nights.Inthe day I change at least 5 times my underwear and shirts
My recent discovery has ended wet nights and constant sweating in the day
It’s a cream that is all natural made by Anthony skin products.
I tried two other ones but they were powders and are messy.Anthony sweat cream is made with Taioca starch, aloe Vera ,vitamin e .
It comes in a tube for $24 USA $ at Amazon.com or Amazon prime.
It is smoothed onto your skin and then dries invisibly. It feels silky soft .Doesn’t come off on clothes. It dries easily and forms a protective Barr to the sweat by absorbing it .
I put this cream as I would any body or face cream on my skin and all around my neck chest ,under boobs etc I sleep all night without sweating and my sheets and pillow is dry
In extremely hot weather and being outside in high temperatures like 35C it needs reapplication
Good luck and give it a try
I am not being paid by this company but it definitely works for me

Curious what kind of accident you were in? Was it head injury? I sweat too. Thought it was part of peripheral neuroapthy., but not sure.

I had an 8 hour brain surgery in 2013. I am 57. I also have a thyroid problem and epilepsy. I had a heart attack last summer due to thyroid problem, irregular heart beat, and severe stress. I am also 25 lbs overweight. Menopause, stress and all those meds make me sweat. The epilepsy pills destroy my liver too. Could be a number of things, especially being overweight.

So sorry to hear everything you've been through. It's terrible to have multiple health problems. Cannabais has been used with great success in treating epilepsy. I wish you well.
