Welcome @dizzybill, I saw this information under precautions on the prednisone side effects that mentions what you are experiencing.
"Talk to your doctor right away if you have more than one of these symptoms while you are using this medicine: blurred vision, dizziness or fainting, a fast, irregular, or pounding heartbeat, increased thirst or urination, irritability, or unusual tiredness or weakness."

My rheumatologist has done a ton of tests on the way toward her PMR diagnosis, and we discussed dizziness. I was on a higher dose of prednisone last year for pneumonia, and the dizziness did stop when I tapered to about 5 mg. It’s just the with PMR, I may, unfortunately, be on this for a while.
