I had brittle fingernails while on prednisone for both of my occurrences of PMR but didn't think anything about it at the time. A few years later I started using a collagen supplement and was surprised how much it helped with my fingernails. I started using it after doing some research for my wife who was having problems with her fingernails that kept breaking.
