Who's taken Myrbetriq for overactive bladder? Results?
I've seen a urologist today for urgency and frequency issues. He has prescribed Myrbetriq. When I came home I checked for possible interaction with current meds. It shows a "moderate" level of interaction with my Propafenone (heart rhythm) and Amitriptyline (sleep aid.) I've called the office but it will be tomorrow before they double check with him to clarify that it is OK for me to take Myrbetriq. Wondering if there are others who have been in this situation. Thanks.

@fdixon63 I am now at six weeks after starting Myrbetriq. I had to put off urinating for more than an hour, and did. The urge comes on strong and then passes. Comes and goes. It helps to not think about it.
I took it but unfortunately it didn’t work for me so I’m now going to have surgery
It’s sort of sad but you really do have to be your own best advocate. Good for you for checking. Do you have a particular site you use to find contraindications?
@lpc , I looked up surgeries for OAB and none of them are pleasant. Which one are you having? Have you considered any of the many options that handle BPH?
Sorry I did not get back to you sooner but that is a good observation. I'm five weeks on Myrbetriq now I tell myself "relax it's OK" and I can get to the bathroom without what might otherwise turn out to be an "accident."
Good. I'm glad it's working for you. I still get an urge, but I hold on and the urge goes away in 30 seconds or so. The urge to go is still pretty strong and I have to consciously hold it until the urge passes. Is that what you find? Also, I found that if I was focused on something, like driving a car, I don't get the urge.
Yes, all of what you said is true. Sometimes while I'm trying to get past the urge I'm walking to the toilet--just in case. I see things going in the right direction. Don't go into a panic mode. Also because I've got lung problems that causes lots of coughing, nothing can help--stress incontinence. Overall, things are better and sometimes that's all we can hope for. Take care.
I was told it could take Myrbetric 8 weeks to work. It worked in 4 days! However, on the 5th day I developed severe abdominal pain and diarrhea. I paid $120 for 4 pills. Waiting for Dr to call and advise.
I took it briefly, and side effect of just not feeling right caused me to stop. Wanted it for long car trips and it just is not worth it for me. I did not incur that huge expense, my insurance paid. Not sure I really got any significant results.
I've been on myrbetriq for 2 years and it has greatly increased my quality of life. I was not leaving the house as much due to finding bathrooms easily. Now I'm good for a day out without anxiety. They are expensive and I tried taking one every other day which seems to work fine. I have humana for the medicare portion of my drug plan and after the deductible is met, the price goes down to $140 every 90 day refill, so much better. Also my lovely urologist gives me lots of office samples, so ask.
FYI when I first took it, during the day, it made me feel weird. Then I changed and take at bedtime with no problems.
